It's going to get out.
Not much of a concern to me.
A turbo is the worst exhaust restriction I can think of. In fact by benifiting only the intake side they make tremendous power.
Pretty much a solid case for spending 95% of your time trying to get more in.
Pressure is always tying to...
Yeah, thanks Matt. just what I was looking for. A different way of saying what I was thinking.
Thanks for all the responses guy's but I think this thread is about done.
I had two ideas for centering the cam. One would be to weld up the cam journal and re-bore it over the new centerline.
The second one is probably better. As the goal here for me is to run a cam profile that does not exist yet, I think I would have them ground on a bigger journal allowing me to...
I am developing a pent roof four valve head and have run into something unexpected. I want to steepen the valve angle in order to increase the clip clearance and improve the angle of atack on the back of the valve. My question is based on the relation of the cam and the bucket. I have already...
I got the term from Herb Adams book Chassis Engineering. And what drew me to it is it seems to be a good design that would be simple, stable, and strong. And yes could be designed to exhibit a slight roll understeer to aid in stability and predictability. though I said slight, I'd like to end up...
I am looking for good information on designing a satchell link rear suspension. The car is a four cylinder, five speed, front engine rear drive platform. It should scale in at about 2050 lbs when done. This car should make about 300 horsepower and its intended use is tarmac hillclimbs...
I'm just trying to clear this up. Corkey Bells writing makes it sound as if you can throw the BOV away if you have a wastegate. Like their two seperate ways of doing the same job and not to be used in conjunction.
I was reading more into my Corkey Bell book and noticed there was no mention of a blow off valve. The only means of venting boost from the pressure side of the system he mentions is a "vent valve". I assume this "vent valve" is meant to be the BOV.
About the "vent valve" he states. "A...
If I get this engine running minus the turbo, is there a way to measure the ehxaust gas volume and speed, or perhaps I can fabricate a short exhaust pipe with the same rate of taper as the turbine housing, and size the exit according to the turbo's A/R.
If done on a chassis dyno under load...
I'm looking for a good source of info on how to properly choose turbine housing sizes for turbos.
I feel pretty confident in selecting properly sized compressors, But there seems to be a void in everything I read on the exhaust side. Not looking for some one to do it for me just looking for a...
