Atmospheric tank with high design temperature

Yes, Metengr is a tank, MJCronin the liquid contained inside of this is DIATERMIC OIL TERMINOL 066; now i will inform myself about vapour pressure of the liquid @ 350 °C.

Atmospheric tank with high design temperature

Goodmorning at all, i have a question about atmospheric tank: i need to know your opinion about the design of a tank that has a design temperature of 350°C. We know that the maximum design temperature provided by API 650 is 260°C using appendix M. What about higher design temperature? Is it...

    Short anchor bolts

What about elongation of short anchor bolts for a skirt of a column? can i cut them & weld again to meke them longer? Have you any experience about this topic? thank you in advance.

definition of MDMT value. how to find the right value for mdmt?

NO, i'm not Stan; We have "white paper" to define the MDMT for all the equipments.

definition of MDMT value. how to find the right value for mdmt?

goodmorning, i 've some doubt about how a mdmt for a plant is calculated. generally the client specifies the MDMT in his specifications, in this case we don't have any information about mdmt needed to design the equipments. what informations we need to define MDMT? the only parameter that we...

Radiography of weldings before or after PWHT?

Hi Stanweld, thank you for your quick reply. It's clear your answer about low alloy steels. Regarding C.S. materials please can you explain better your experience? if i do the radiography after (for example) 72 hours, i'll be sure that PWHT won't cause defects in welding (only for c.s.)?

Radiography of weldings before or after PWHT?

Hi, i need to know what You think about radiography of weldings. These radiographies must be done after or before PWHT? if i've a perfect radiography before PWHT, could i find some defects after PWHT? Why? Are there differences between low alloy & Carbon Steel weldings?

Which is the Hydrotest Pressure with alternative design conditions?

knstar, i didn't say this: the vessel is designed using asme code but also PED, so according with the client specification we must choose the max value for hydrotest pressure between asme & ped. PED : - 1.25 * Pdes * (stress ratio as asme) or - 1.43 * Pdes the max value is the second, so...

Weld Overlay or Cladding for small nozzle

Yes jte, you're right when you say that cladding for LWN 2" is strange....this was a little mistake in my question; the other question regards the NDE test on overlay to check if it has been done correctly. Can you or someone give me some example? or photo? thanks again. chris

Weld Overlay or Cladding for small nozzle

Do you know if is possible to esecute cladding or weld overlay inside a LWN 2" nozzle? probably it's hard to do, the lenght of the nozzle is 300 mm c.ca. Can you give me some referrement of similar cases? thank you very much at all. Christian

Which is the Hydrotest Pressure with alternative design conditions?

;) don't worry roca....the vessel is adequately reinforced with stiffening rings, but the hydrotest pressure is another thing ;) probably if the mawp based on used shell thk was required, then the full vacuum condition may be the worst condition for hydrotest.

Which is the Hydrotest Pressure with alternative design conditions?

MJCronin, i know what you mean; but is not thescope of my question, i don't have any problem to do the hydrotest, but i want to know if my hydrotest' pressure calculation should be based on 5 or 10 bar. The thickness of the shell is calculated with 10 bar. So i'm sure that i can do the test, for...

ATEX CLASSIF. for PV&HE based on operating or design Temperature?

If I have a Vessel with a design and operating teperature data and i have to assign the Atex classification to it. Which value should i use?? If The Vessel is Insulated? Thanks for all Christian

Which is the Hydrotest Pressure with alternative design conditions?

Good morning, i've a pressure vessel with a design pressure of 5 bar @ 200°C, the steam out condition for the vessel need an alternative design condition of 10Bar/F.V. @ 260°C; The vessel works in steam out condition few days every three years c.ca. Which value of design pressure should i use...

    What is a Loy-Alloy?

Can someone explain what' s the meaning of Loy-Alloy, where i can find something about them and an example of Loy-Alloy? Thank you for all. Christian
