Permanent soldier pile wall with precast lagging?

This is for a project that I am looking into. The retaining was are mostly in the 10' height range with a few up to 12'. They where originally designed as Large SRW system. The problem is that they are on the property line and do not have room to install the wall properly. Some one suggested...

Permanent soldier pile wall with precast lagging?

Just a quick question. I have done a search on this site regarding permanent solder pile walls and precast lagging and it seams it is only done as a bottom up method which I understand why. My question is can a soldier pile wall be built top down as usual but have the timber lagging back lagged...

    Micropile Construction

I have a 13,000 ft lb drive from Digga that is 12" in dia. Helical would work in that size constraint. Also TEI has a man portable drill that can install 30mm hollow bar that might work for you.

Self Drilling Hollow Bars to Stabilize a Stone Retaining Wall

If the stone is loose with a lot of seams you will have a problem drilling without a temp. casing. A DTH drill with a casing would be your best bet in my opinion.

Segmental Retaining Wall with Zero Batter

There are some SRW block that only moves a 1/4" per course (8") so on a 24' wall that is only 9" total

    Drilled Pier bored through geogrid

A core barrel is just a round casing like tool with cutting tools on the end. You can have it made any size you want. Most suppliers will get it the size you need and you can spec the kind of cutting teeth on the end. Maybe it can be made with a saw tooth pattern on the end to try to cut geogris...

    Drilled Pier bored through geogrid

I have seen fence guys try to auger geogrid ti install fence and the auger grabs the geodrid and actully pulls the the SRW outof aligment at the top of the wall. If you know where the geogrid is usally every 3 courses maybee you can run a core barrel at that elvation and then clean up with an...

    Underpinning using CMU

Where is the job located? Can you you use other types of shoring sheet piles, H piles and lagging? Has your underpinning contractor ever done this before? Is he a underpinning contractor or a mason? How much room or tolarance do you have to work with to get your valut in?

steel pin piles & new foundation under old building

You also can use a hollow injection anchor. I think they make a 30 mm holow tread bar that can be installed with a 90 lb rock drill that can be socketed into the rock with a 42 mm rock bit and grouted that would do the trick. Lock up williams form and CTS/Titan.

Can pin piles be driven into bedrock?

You definatly have to drill. you can pre drill and drive or you can use a Titan Bar drill and grout as you go, there are many options.

    Deep Helix Anchors

I am a helical anchor installer in NJ We have installed 1 3/4" shaft with 6" grout pull down piles to 70+ feet with 200 Kip ratings. But you definelty wont get 5' embedmnet in dense sand stone. You either will get something to grab and get the proper torque or will just bottom out and spin the...

Helical cassed pull down pile as a soilder pile?

I agree that underpinning would have been more economical. But when I tell you the building is in bad shape the walls a bulging in many places the rubble can be removed by hand it has no motar in the joints you can pick any stone and just pull it out. We dug several test pits and it is a loose...

Helical cassed pull down pile as a soilder pile?

There will be no underpinning envolved like I said the building will be supported by tempary steel and cribbing. There is shoring need from the front of building to sidewalk and along the sidewalk need to have accesss to the new basement for construction puposes. Yes I am still trying to confine...

Helical cassed pull down pile as a soilder pile?

Yes Chance and Atlas are one now. The steel supporting the structure will be placed under the 1st floor houlding one side and both end up. So we can demo the rubble wall and rebuild. The helical pull down piles will also be grouted solid. These are just ideas I gave the engineer to look at.with...

    retaining wall for waste dump

They do make SRW with little 1/4" setback per course 8" high and zero set back Lookinto keystone retaining walls. The only problem I see is when the rolloff drop his container close to the wall he could hit the wall and damage it over time. A poured in place wall would be better suited for this...

Helical cassed pull down pile as a soilder pile?

Well we can go with smaller helices enough just to pull the pile down. I figured tie backs were necessary but I would like to go with the min. need to ovoid all the utilities in the street and under sidewalk (water, gas, storm main) I am guessing by adding the pipe pile as a solider beam it...

Helical cassed pull down pile as a soilder pile?

I have a job that I am doing the concrete work and excavation and underpinning. In one corner there will be a 17' deep cut along an existing building and front sidewalk. The building will be jacked up and supported on steel so we can excavate and build new foundations. But the front corner along...
