@ LiteYear. Thank you for your reply. much appreciated.
We are based in South Africa. We have already recognised the problem with regards to the higher frequency fault currents and that is why I am curious to know about these protection devices. We are also aware of the Low impedance earth...
Does anybody have experience with regards to the use of earth leakage protection devices in a VSD installation. We are using a resistance grounding system (IT-system) on our MCCs and need to use Earth Leakage protection on all feeders from the MCC. With the VSD installations, however, we have...
I don't know how high-tech you want the project or if it only for testing. Try a light dimmer to control the speed of the motor if it is only for testing
It sounds as if you are using M&G Masterpacts. I know these breakers have an external test facility.(Plug in unit). I don't know if it will help if you disconnect the shunt trip on the breaker for the test (Dangerous when in cct). Maybe an investigation into the breaker workings can help.

I am doing the design of a new 6.6kV Substation consisting of two Incomers, a Bussection, two motor feeders and two spare panels in an industrial plant. The supply for the substation come from a main substation which is fed from the supply authority.
The above is just background info and my...
I am using Delphi 8, but get an error message when trying to run the database desktop.
"Cannot find engine configuration file"
Does this mean that the config file is corrupt or that it is missing somehow.
I am new at this so pse help.
The current that you gave is the infinite bus Fault Current calculated by I = (VA/(Sq3 * Vp))/Z
The Magnetising Current is the current to overcome the No-Load losses in the Transformer.
Usually in Switchgear they put the CT rating plates inside the cubicle, behind the test block, against the back wall because the CTs are hidden away at the back.
