I do about 130 to 150 designs a year... lots of simple parts... most of my clients have been in biz for well over 20 year. I had to fight to get them to even let me do 3D anything.

I noticed that Cut Extrudes done in the assembly will only maintain a cut when edited as an opened part...
Kinda inconsistant ... I've been using solidworks since 96 and they constantly amaze me at changes to the programs behavior like this.
This is why I only upgrade once in a blue f'ing moon...
I tire of having to debug stuff like this. And pay them for the privilage.
But now I can edit my part on a conference room table - whoopdie dooo....

Used to be in SW2006, that when you edited a part by itself (ie not within an assembly) that a Cut-Extrude would appear as such in the feature tree - the new feature would automatically be named Cut-Extrude.
Now it appears as just an Extrude...

It may be due to the fact that in Solidworks, the parts are set to transparent.
I had this issue before with my seat of 2006; you need to right click it in Solidworks and change transparancy back to opaque, then after saving as an Edwg, reset it to be transparent then resave the EDWG.
