A self-reply:
Tecplot does not like two mesh types in one file. I did not want to, but it worked ok to do an unstructured mesh on the whole part. Messy, but at least Tecplot 360 read in the .inp file and converted it successfully to Tecplot 10.
Hello,
I'm looking for a way to get my Abaqus mesh into Tecplot. (Just the undeformed X,Y,Z nodes). The mesh is partitioned into an structured Hex section and an unstructured Tet section.
The final file format must be in Tecplot 10 (.dat) format with X,Y,Z nodes by layer, which shouldn't be...
Hello,
I'm looking for a way to export solid model geometry I have in Pro/E into Tecplot 10 (now called Tecplot Focus). I haven't worked much with the actual formatting on data files, but my understanding is that Tecplot needs to import the geometry in (X,Y,Z) coordinates only, where the...
To close this thread-
I finally got it to work. Antran- thanks for all of your insight.
I got inspiration from the method you suggested, but instead of offsetting all of the points normal, I divided the spline into several sections (Divide an Entity command), some larger ones based on...
antran,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is a spline (probably technically a B-spline) with 160 closely spaced nodes. I tried to convert it to the control point method but Pro-E thinks for about 5 minutes before neglecting to preform the command without any warning or error messages. Is there a...
Hello,
I am trying to create a normal direction offset to a 2-D spline created in a sketch. I followed the technique in the following thread: thread554-159791 ,
i.e. Create a sketch of the spline to be offset. Create a second sketch that uses the first sketch as a reference and use the...
