How to link properties with drafting border?

Thanks for the information. We're going to try to follow your tips. Meanwhile, we also found a drafting template. Maybe we can use that as a basis to customize our own template.

How to link properties with drafting border?

Somebody here within the company made some own drafting borders which we must use. But the drawing properties are not matched to the drafting border, so we need to fill in the border by adding text manually. That isn’t the way it should me used in my opinion. How do we link/map the drawing...

Hi John, I can't provide you with an NX model because of our company policy.

    Pipe to flat sheetmetal pattern

It's a cutter suction pipe for dredging as seen in the photo below. http://www.hollandscheijssel.nl/i/p/20csd500cl.jpg The pipe is oval at the intake (half seen at the bottom of the picture), and at the end of the suction pipe it's completely round. This way it can be flange bolted.

    Pipe to flat sheetmetal pattern

At the moment I'm busy creating an intake suction pipe for a dredging vessel. But I have problems with getting it all to work in NX5. The situation: I've one sketch which contains a circle and another sketch at an offset with a sort of dented oval. Both sketches need to be combined into one...

Performance problem large ship assy in NX5

Ok. Thanks for all solutions you're coming with. I just opened the entire assembly on a HP xw8600 running Xeon 5450 @ 3 GHz and 3,25 GB of RAM, using a Quadro FX4600 graphics card. Result: 36 minutes of loading time, which makes no difference with the other system. I clocked the time which the...

Performance problem large ship assy in NX5

Additional information: The CPU usage is about 10%. I would expect to see 100% usage while loading models, even when the priority of the UG process is set to high or real-time.

Performance problem large ship assy in NX5

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm reading the other thread indeed, which is supplying me with all sorts of solutions. All models we use are lightweight reference sets, and we use the corresponding load options. Though, NX is using the local area network to load some data (seen in the stats of the...

Performance problem large ship assy in NX5

Hi all, We're currently working on a large vessel in NX5 (V5.0.4.1). This is the first time we use NX, before we used Inventor. I've set the model scale to large at Visualization Performance and the entire model is built up with JT-files. We use JT to increase the performance and therefore we...
