Does anyone know of an existing specification for 6000# Lens Ring Flanges?
I am being asked by a customer for 6000# Lens Ring Flanges. I am familiar with MSS SP 65 4000# and DIN 2696 but I can't find other specifications for these types of flanges to meet the required pressure rating. Although...
Thanks bcd. Someone else suggested 17-7 PH but I am reluctant to use it since its properties are not well documented in ASME Section II. I need the allowable stresses to proove the design integrity and safety of the components to the provincial safety authority and to get a CRN (that's the way...
Thanks for your replies.
Rich, I called ISG and they could not supply it and referred me to other distributors. Unfortunately all those leads turned up nothing.

I am looking for a low cost, high strength steel (bar or forging) for high pressure cryogenic service. We are currently using Nitronic 50 but it is very expensive and I feel that it is overkill for our needs. My research in various literatures led me to SA-522 Type 1 (UNS K81340). This seems to...
Hi,
I cannot find the allowable stresses for SA-266 Grade 3 in ASME B31.1 but remember a colleague telling me that it is acceptable. Is there a code case covering this in B31.1 or is there a procedure in B31.1 that I should follow to qualify it?
Hi Prabir. We offer standard and custom designed clamp connectors interchangeable with Grayloc and would be happy to answer any of your questions. I am glad to see that everyone has had positive experiences with this robust connector.
I remember reading an article a few years ago where someone had performed an FEA of ANSI B16.5 flanges to code and deduced that some sizes were overly designed whereas others were slightly under (I think). Has anyone else read such an article? If so, do you know where I can get a hold of it?
