    Reyrolle relay 2DCC IDMT Protection

I am having difficulty in understanding the curve settings of the above relay. I no longer have an image of this relay to understand the settings in the block. If somebody could post an image of the front panel aswell will appreciate it.

    cable calc

Hi guys Can somebody help me with cable calc. Our company tends to use the Amtech software which I'm trained in but it does not help with any HV cable calcs. I need a formula for this. The voltages that we use are generally 6.6,11,33 and 132kv. So a common formula would help alot. Thanks

    Transformer testing

Mshahwan, I didn't qute understand your last response about the megger test, did you mean to say that the megger testing is the best of all that you have mentioned above, just need some clarity. This is the first time that I have dealt with the power side of a 33Kv transformer, I normally...

    Transformer testing

hi guys, thanks for the prompt response. I used the term pressure test thinking that it is a worldwide term, however the purpose of a voltage withstand test is to prove that the insulation is in good order and it is safe to connect up the working voltage. I appreciate the insulation resistance...

    voltage drop?

how do you calculate the voltage drop on an hv cable, as we use the Amtech software to find the correct cable required for LV, there is no facility on the software to calculate the voltage drop in a HV cable.

    Transformer testing

Hi Guys Can somebody please advise me as to what voltage can a SGB 33/6.6 kv transformer be tested at during a pressure test? I would normally test any 33kv transformer at abt 15kv dc between phase and earth as it will be working voltage, but phase to phase i'm not sure abt. I'm using a T&R...

    Reyrolle solkor relay

The relay that I'm working with is an old Solkor R serial no:A3B377 It has abt 5 studs on the front(assuming that this is resistance settings) that add upto 490.

    Reyrolle solkor relay

Guys, I would like to know if a Solkor relay can be used for transformer protection. I understand that the Solkor relay is used for zone protection but I came across 4 transformer feeders today that have Solkor relays connected to it. Thanks.

    High Voltage Distribution Network Discrimination

I agree with jghrist. Overload is independant of fault factors. However they can be configured to operate simultaneously. One overcurrent/earth fault relay cannot perform as a fault and an overload protection device.
