We have had other older parts that when brought into NX 8.5 we have these problems. I was able to recreate one of these parts from scratch and have no issues with the views jumping around. The one problem I am having now with broken views is when I try to add a section view using the broken...
Here are the parts that make the part. 1117135-0 is the weldment. I added one item balloon to show what happens when the views start moving around. You also see the views do this when you go from modeling to drafting. You can see how the one item bolloon changes position. Sorry we are not...
It is not the grip program. Same thing happens if you just try plotting the drawing to our plotter. Even though the drawing sheet does not say out of date, when you go to plot, it looks like it is trying to update the views. This is very similar to what use to happen to some older sheet metal...
You see the views moving around on the screen as you are trying to plot. The views themselves look ok, but the item balloons and labels added do not stay at the location they were positioned on the drawing. Those items change position everytime you try plotting the drawing.
We can look at...
Basically it is running the plot function in NX. It then captures the output to be used for an drawing viewer we have set up for the company. It takes the output of the plotting and gets things converted into a pdf file to use in our viewer. Even if I just try plotting itself, the broken...
Well I found out I have to first place the item balloon and associate it to something on the drawing. Then I can place it where it needs to be on the drawing. Then when I do the plotting, at least the item balloon stays in the location I positioned it at. The same goes with labels added to...
After creating a broken view on a drawing, I have added item balloons for the parts. This is a long tube with end plates to make a weldment. We have a grip program that runs the plot function and captures the output to send it to a custom viewer we have. When I run this grip program, the...
I started out making a JT file of a chassis we received from a supplier. So I got the top level JT file and in another folder, got the JT files of the components that make up the chassis. I then went to add the chassis JT file into a NX assembly. I had no problems selecting the JT file to add...
One thing I did notice about the part that was trying to be deleted, it had a promotion associated with it. I was able to have the user replace the part with another simple part. Then delete the promotion. Then the replaced part could be deleted.
Have an assembly one of our users was opening and one of the parts is obsolete and it says part not found. But when you try to delete the part from the assembly, you get a error "failed to find file using current search options, part left unloaded. Why is the assembly trying to load the part...
I tried that at first, and it didn't work. I did find out there was promotion made from a component of the obsolete part and that component was still a good part. I had to open that part so I could then delete the promotion, then delete the old component.
We are currently running NX 7.5.5.4. When I open an assembly and it has a part that went obsolete, I am having a problem being able to delete that component. When I select to component to delete it, it goes and tries to open it first before it deletes it. Why would it have to try and open the...
I did also send this in to GTAC. It has gone to a PR now since the curves should be showing in the detail view whether it is independent or not. The only way to get the curves to show was make it independent.
Had a user adding a detail view in drafting. In the view selected to create the detail from, you can see all the lines showing. When the detail is placed on the drawing, what would be silhouette lines are not showing. Now one thing I see different in nx7.5, the detail views are a level below...
Already got a reply from GTAC. In drafting you have to go to assemblies, context control, show components in view. You select the view and it shows what components are not being shown. After selecting the components, hit apply and then they appear in the drawing view. It is a known issue...
We recently switch to NX 7.5 from NX6. We are having an issue when adding a new part to an existing assembly file that was from NX 6. If constraints are used to locate the new part, you see the part when in modeling. When you go to drafting, any views already on the drawing the part is not...
Found the issue and I think it is a bug in NX7.5. We have typically not use the callouts for flat patterns when they are added to a drawing because we define those items in our bent views. In NX6, we had them all turned off and no problems. In NX7.5 if the callouts are turned off and you...
I have uploaded a spreadsheet of our customer defaults. We tested things as if they were right out of the box and the flat pattern worked. After applying our settings, it does not work. The spread sheet is displayed showing what is different between the as shipped out of the box settings...
