We are in the process of getting NX7.5 going. I have selected customer defaults for NX sheetmetal to be the same as in NX6. When I place the FP view on the drawing, I am not seeing any of the FP geometry in the view. I am not sure if this is a sheetmetal issue or something for drafting. Are there any settings I may have picked or not picked that would keep the curves from showing up?

My guess is that it's a "visible in view" layer problem.

There are more settings in the NX7.5 defaults to change than what were in NX6, but I think I did not have to touch my NX7.5 sheet metal customer defaults (just imported the NX6 ones).

I wish it was just that. We have our flat patterns going to layer 199. WHen I check the view on the drawing, that layer is visible.

So you see the curves while in modeling, but not in drafting . . . right?

Correct. WHen we first put the FP view on the drawing, you end up seeing the bent piece, which you should not see.

Things seem to be in our customer defaults somewhere. We got one workstation set to out of the box settings and everything worked well. So now comparing the 2 different defaults.

I opened the file, and I it appeared to look ok to me, but I wasn't sure if I was missing something so I didn't bring it up.

I have uploaded a spreadsheet of our customer defaults. We tested things as if they were right out of the box and the flat pattern worked. After applying our settings, it does not work. The spread sheet is displayed showing what is different between the as shipped out of the box settings compared to our settings.

I am sure what the "view sectioning cap color" is (line 25 in your defaults spread sheet), but it is the same (or similar) to your flat pattern color, and they may be interferring with each other.

no, what I mentioned above isn't it.
I was looking for some sort of color problem - like a black line on a black drawing background.

On the drawing that you don't see the flat pattern lines that you should, hover your cursor over where the lines should be and see if they highlight.

Try working using the recommend Master Model approach, that is the Sheet Metal part file is added to a Drawing part file as a component and they you create your drawing. If you do that I think you will find that this works just fine.

Found the issue and I think it is a bug in NX7.5. We have typically not use the callouts for flat patterns when they are added to a drawing because we define those items in our bent views. In NX6, we had them all turned off and no problems. In NX7.5 if the callouts are turned off and you place the flat pattern view on the drawing, you only see the model. Also if you then look at preferences-view, you will not see a tab for flat patterns. When you turn on the callouts, the flat pattern view comes in just fine.
