You need to increase the amount of memory your giving ansys to work in. The scratch space is the total workspace - database space (you should see this as you enter interactive mode - if your using interactive mode that is). Just increase teh total workspace.

Just out of interest are you using Ansys 5.6 on an HP machine? If so the fix is to dl a patch from HP called the "3D Common Runtime patch". If not can you post the details of ansys version and machine.
