    Mitsubishi D700 Inverter

Thanks for the replies Gents. I've just ordered 4 Red Lion units as a cheap option (£110each). Pieces per minute would be a better display but not sure if the red lion unit would be able to do that. Kind regards Stuart

    Mitsubishi D700 Inverter

Hi For some apparent reason, our production staff would like us to display the frequency the inverter is running at. The inverter is located inside a control panel so I was wondering if there was some way to connect a display unit (something like a Dixel) to the inverter which would display the...

    Motor/Inverter monitoring software

Hi Oz Thanks for the reply. SEW use a plug in controller that you can attach to the inverter and visually monitor current, speed etc. This is helpful when monitoring a particular motor, however our plant has over 300 motors and would take an engineer some time to collect the readings, he would...

    Motor/Inverter monitoring software

Hi Ladies/gents Is there any software on the market that monitors the current used by the motor, through an inverter to a PC. We currently use SEW Movitrac inverters but SEW doesn't seem to have advanced as far as PC monitoring. The intention is hopefully to preset 85% of full load current...

    Fluid control

Hi, Please could someone tell me what type of valve this is and who it is made by? I'm presuming it's a pressure regulator but the only information it has on it is, DN40 - 11/2. I know that the DN40 is refering to the flange size and the 11/2 is the inlet/outlet bore. The closest i can see on...

    Electrical safe working practices.

In response to xnuke: The job was to locate an electrical fault on a circuit, i would expect any of the electrical maintenance engineers to be capable of doing this, otherwise there'd not be much point in employing them. He did find the fault eventually but his methods were questionable.

    Electrical safe working practices.

'If an engineer was doing the repair work, he/she was probably definitely working beyond their qualifications'! Not if he was an electrical engineer as stated. I think the answer to my original question is, he should have known better! Thanks for your replies.

    Electrical safe working practices.

Thanks for both replies, unfortunately i've been misunderstood/not explained fully. It was the electrical engineer who has been suspended for apparently knowing better than to attempt to reset the o/l for a 3rd time. The fitter has been disciplined via written warning. It's the unsafe working...

    Electrical safe working practices.

Hi, I would really appreciate anybodies advice on this. An overload trips protecting Inverter and motor, a fitter attempts to reset the overload twice without success and then calls for the electrical engineer on site. The electrical engineer get's a brief account of what's happened then also...

    Rotary Encoder

(Out of curiosity: What kind of machinery is this? And, where in the World is it located?) Hi Gunnar, The machinary it's attatched to is a Retractor conveyor and it's on a bakery production line. I'll do a diagram of it's operation which will best describe the operation. Once again thanks for...

    Rotary Encoder

Good morning, Could anyone please advise me on how to identify an Encoder? It's a rotary encoder but due to it's age all the details on it have been worn away and due to cable damage will need to be replaced very soon. Your help is greatly appreciated. Stuart.

    Bulgin enclosure.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen an enclosure that is purposely made for the exp-0941 that doesn't require any alterations. It is designed to accept the 4 mounting holes of the socket. The company i work for is a food manufacturer and as such it has to be minimum IP68 rated due to hygiene...

    Servo motor error!

Hi, Last night the company i work for suffered 4 hours downtime due to lack of knowledge on servo motors and controllers. Issue's started last week when we lost the Neutral to the supply (It was put through an aux contact on the isolator which suffered corrosion). Got the neutral back but...
