    bendy plastic

Hi, Can somebody please tell me what type of plastic this is moulded (the arm that clips over the chair)from and the moulding method? I assume some sort of Polymer that is injection moulded? I cant find a bigger picture so I hope this is enough.. ] I need to design a bendy component using...

Unable to thicken surface models containing blends

Thanks for that.. I am doing just that for one of my parts. Although its a B surface it may be used to cut male Bucks for Carbon fibre parts. I looked into the conic rad on youtube, and between them and a small blend, the differance is small. By adjusting the paramater (like you said 0.6) you...

Unable to thicken surface models containing blends

I have only looked at surfacic analysis to check any inflections so never used the radius analysis! the min is 1.15 on a blend. Im trying to thicken to 3mm.. could this be part of the problem? need to understand this

Unable to thicken surface models containing blends

Definitly going to try this option.... Does anybody know if a small radius (with conic option set to 0.5) would be noticably different than using a curvature continuity blend? on the actual phyisical part.

Unable to thicken surface models containing blends

Yes helps thanks Do you mean do this only to highlight the problimatic areas? or create a multi thickened part from multi joined surfaces?

Unable to thicken surface models containing blends

Hi, Unable to thicken surface models containing blends. Please forgive the long explanation of my problem but it’s the only way I can describe it.. I have been using GSD to create some 3D models that will be used to create plastic panels for a scooter. I am fairly proficient at using GSD...

Thanks all. Jeff that will help most for what I am doing.

copying components within assembly design tree

Hi, I am bulding an assembly that will contain lots of common parts so would like to find an easy way to copy parts within the design tree in assembly. If I multi select (using ctrl key) a collection of components and copy to clipboard, and hit paste, only 1 component is pasted into the tree. I...

    changing drawing link to model

Hi, I have been asked to create a number of drawings all very similar to each other. I have created my first drawing linked to the 3D model. I would like to be able to create several variations of the model each varying slightly in size but...then be able to create copys of the original...

apply Image on a model surface

Thanks for the ideas. Using sketch picture means having show sketches in assembly which is no good..never mind Thanks

    MULTIPLE BODIES IN PART

Using multibody I notice you can apply mates. I looked at the help but it only talks about applying mates whan inserting new bodies. May sound a daft question as I cant see how it could do this, but can you apply mates to move parts after inserted? I have a hinge witin my part!

    MULTIPLE BODIES IN PART

Hi, I am modeling some off the shelf items that consists of seperate parts to make an assembly. I can model all items and bring together in an assembly fine, but I would like to know if I can model all the components in 1 part? In Catia you can create multiple bodies in a part (not assy) and...
