That's right, the pin fits in the yoke of shock.
So what is correct spec for the bar 3W.9C or BW.9C and what it all means? is W there for wolfram? Is .9C means 0.9% carbon content by weight?

The pin I'm itrested in is holding the spring, part of shock absorbing system.

I have liquid spring bracket detail drawing dated 1962. Bracket has 4 No. pins. Pins are made from "Alloy steel bar spec 3W.9C" or it can read BW.9C. I'm not 100% percent sure it's 'C' at the end as well. The drawing is very old and not clear unfortunately.
