    opaque shrink wrap

Also, what is the recycle-ability of the shrink wrap plastic? Has anyone started using bio-degradable plastics for shrink wrap? What is the cost difference? Thanks Again.

    opaque shrink wrap

Thanks for the reply guys! I was wondering if there is an easy way to print on shrink wrap as well? Any ideas? Thanks,

    opaque shrink wrap

Hi, I was wondering if opaque (any color) shrink wrap exists? Also, is there a type of ink that sprayed on that would survive the shrink wrap process? Thanks

    networked device

ok, am I getting the lingo correct sensor w/ digital or analog output <=> programmable microcontroller <=> network interface keep in mind this is supposed to be a stand-alone device (no pc)

    networked device

Well, I'd like to get some off-the-shelf hardware current meter, controller, network card (wifi, wired) and get someone to help me put it together. but, I'd like to get a better understanding of the process before I approach an EE about it.

    networked device

I'd like to connect a current meter to a network to track usage on a website. i'd (eventually) like to be able to shut off the current to a device from over the network(ethernet).

    networked device

Hi, I'd like to know how to "network" a device. Say I had a sensor/transducer that I want to be able to read output from and push that to a web services. Obviously, it has to have a network card. I would probably need some programmable micro controller to get both to talk to each other and...

Where to scavange and cut high density foam

Hi, I need to line a plastic case with high density foam to package some equipment. I know that i can buy HD foam from case vendors but, I was curious if there are some places where I could scavenge it or get it cheaper. Also, how do you cut HD foam to get the nice clean cuts? Any advice is...

Ansys workbench - thermal contact boundary condition

Hi, I'm trying to model a thermal-electric cooler coming in contact with a metal plate with thermal-conductive paste in between them. I'm using ansys workbench 12. can anyone direct me or give me some hints on how to model the boundary conditions? Thanks.

Heating of the RTD wire leads

Thanks for your help however, I do have another questions. The RTD is not fixed to the surface that it is measuring; contact will be done with slight pressure and no thermal conductive epoxy between the RTD and measured surface will be used. Can I expect accurate results? Thanks for your help.

Heating of the RTD wire leads

Hi, I'm working on a temporary fixture that will use an RTD to measure the temperature of a flat surface. The design might allow for the wires to the RTD to heat up to about 300F. Will this effect the performance/accuracy of the RTD significantly? Any insight will be helpful.

    CAD/FEM server side processing

Hi, I was wondering what FEM/CAD packages offer server side processing. I'm used to using Comsol/Abacus/Solidworks/Ansys for CAD/FEM. It would be nice if the model could be created on a desktop and the computation/rendering could be done on a server/cluster. Are there companies out there...
