If you have 'predecessors' defined in your project schedule then the relationship of the change(s) to other tasks would automatically display.

I would create a custom field formula on the start column that looks for the 'task' name and adjusts the start date for only that task.

Yes, you may create your own headings in a task column. Each 'field' has a 'title'. When you insert a column (or edit a column) you may add or edit the column's "title". The "title" is what appears in the heading of the column.
