    Robotic Arm Movement

I like this method. One caveat. Can I have the measure angle tool output negative angles? Any angle it gives me is positive.

    Robotic Arm Movement

Toost, the only problem I have with that method is being able to quickly determine if the joint angles I manually put in are valid. For example, joint 4 may only have a range of motion between -120 degrees and +185 degrees. I could very easily exceed those numbers by manually moving each joint...

    Robotic Arm Movement

Toost, I can not give a good illustration of my arm. Imagine it looks something like this Canada arm on the ISS Each joint has a large range of motion (almost 360 degrees). I have done exactly what you talked about and have used move component to move the last link. This works partially but NX...

    Robotic Arm Movement

Hey all. Long time NX user in need of some help. Running NX 10. I have a robotic arm CAD model that has 7 separate joints in it. Each joint angle is controlled through expressions so I can say I want Joint 1 to be 45 degrees, Joint 2 to be 85 degrees, etc... This works great for quick CAD...

NX 10 Drafting - Live dimensions on counterbores

Thanks for the reply and the nice video. I think there are two issues at play here. One thing I can't use in drafting is the hole callout feature. This is, I think, because our drawings are not made in the part file. They are specific drawing files. We add the part we are drafting as a...

NX 10 Drafting - Live dimensions on counterbores

Hello! So myself and co-workers typically dimension counterbore'd holes by taking a section view and calling out the CB diameter and depth from here. Another way we do it occasionally is dimensioning the center hole normal to the surface it is on and adding text below the dimension to indicate...

Easier way to change drafting sheets?

Yea perhaps pinning it open is the better method. I also have it docked on my other monitor but usually don't have it pinned open. Its better but still an annoyance. Thanks

Easier way to change drafting sheets?

I am on NX10 I would like it to be one mouse click instead of 3

Easier way to change drafting sheets?

Hey all, I am a long time NX user. Is there any easier way someone knows on how to change the current sheet in drafting? I hate having to go into the part navigator to click to the sheet I want. Anything I can add to a toolbar? Thanks

NX 7.5: Hole center line glitch?

I have not checked with them. Other coworkers have not had this issue so my thoughts are that it has to do with my creation method of the hole itself. I just haven't gotten around to troubleshooting and was wondering if anyone knew of this issue

NX 7.5: Hole center line glitch?

Hey, So I recently have started using the NX hole tool. For years I have been using the pre-NX5 hole tool but love the functionality of the updated tool much more. The issue I am having with it is in drafting. At my job we use a lot of helicoils so most of my holes are made using the hole tool...

Using motion simulator for a reversing gear? (Unsure of the name, video inside)

I am trying to replicate the motion shown in this system: Reversing direction under constant input I have no real purpose for it other than to show some interns how motion simulation works. Is there a way to define this type of motion in NX? I have only been able to get the output gear to...

Camera Field of View is Incorrect

So is there a current workaround for this? So far I am just creating a coild body wit ha 90 deg FOV and am changing the view angles a degree at a time until the edges line up.
