Need help with choosing proper replacement Capacitor

Hi all, just a follow up to let everyone know how things went... I ended up ordering 3 Caps from Mouser that I thought would be the best matches (based on the suggestions above and just sorting through them). In the end when I received them I picked the one that had the closest color to the...

Need help with choosing proper replacement Capacitor

Thanks all! You have been very helpful! The cap that came off only has the tiniest of leads left on the bottom (maybe 1mm). It broke off. Keith/Comcokid, I figured for a few bucks worth of caps it was worth it to try and fix it. If it works great, if not I'm out a couple of bucks and a few...

Need help with choosing proper replacement Capacitor

Thanks Keith! I spent quit some time trying to find anything I could related to the 2L2 with no luck at all. That's why I turned here. I know just enough about circuits to be dangerous and to be able to fix fairly straight forward problems. My concern with this is that I just don't know how...

Need help with choosing proper replacement Capacitor

All, First thanks for any help you can be! I am working on repairing a laptop given to my son. The problem I am having it trying to find the correct capacitor to replace the bad one. If you want to know how I know it is bad, well.... It was rolling around inside the laptop. Figured that...

    Need Suggestions for new workstation

Thanks for all the responses! cowski, Yes Lenovo Ben/John, any specific suggestions on the Nvidia cards? I think the graphics cards are the biggest issue with our current setups and I don't want to end up with the same issue. Our current machines are already Xeon W3550 (8 core) processers...

    Need Suggestions for new workstation

All, When I did a search on this question, all the posts seemed rather old so I am asking again. We are looking to replace our current IBM workstations with new ones. We are limited to IBM by our company. We do large assemblies and a lot of surface modeling. We are running Team Center 9 and...

Twist a solid body in NX 8.5

What makes you think the twist has changed when you offset the surface? It does not appear to change to me.

Twist a solid body in NX 8.5

Here is a pic of what I am refering to with 2 guides. The trailing edge is a line along the Y axis and the leading edge is rotated 5 deg in the Y-Z plane.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=58a07200-6ba6-4bc5-b427-626611664ab0&file=Wing.JPG

Twist a solid body in NX 8.5

Sounds to me like you need to have either a starting section which is at the starting angle you want, then an ending section that is at the finished angle. Or you may use 2 different guide curves, one for the leading edge and one for the trailing edge.

    Spline creating a non-planer surface

Well, things are not always as they seem! It works when I project the spline onto another plane and then extrude it. So I'm guessing you are correct and the spline was actually not created locked into a plane. Thanks for the help!!!

    Spline creating a non-planer surface

OK. That makes sense but it is already set to plane. Thanks!

    Spline creating a non-planer surface

Cowski, thanks for responding. Honestly, I'm not sure what I am looking at there. What would change the results I am seeing?

    Spline creating a non-planer surface

Can anyone tell me why a spline that is created on a plane and extruded along that plane does not creat a planer surface? If I did the same thing with a line, no ploblem but as soon as I add curvature to the line it doesn't work. Let me clearify a little... The surface may be all in one...

    NX9 Highlight/Selection order

PhoeNX, thanks for your answer. I see what your showing but that is not how my NX7.5 used to act. Unfortunately I have no way to see the old defaults. I was hoping that someone on the forum would have already run across this and would be able to tell me what setting this would be. Thanks agian!

    NX9 Highlight/Selection order

No it's anything. Seems like NX9 defaults to selecting the parent no matter what has been done. I don't think I have found any instance where NX9 does not select the partent with out using the quick pick dialog (which can be a pain). Another example would be a curve extruded into a surface...

    NX9 Highlight/Selection order

Michael, thank you for the reply. That is checked already. I'm not sure if I am explaining my issue correctly or not. Let me see if I can clearify... If I have a surface (the "parent") and have modified the surface with several operations (like trim and/or extend)(the children). While in...

    NX9 Highlight/Selection order

Hi cowski, Thanks for responding! That doesn't seem to make a difference. Even if I set it to "Feature" it still selects the "parent".

    NX9 Highlight/Selection order

Hi Everyone! I believe this is the first time I have posted in this forum, although it has been extremely helpful finding answers!!! Thanks to all those who have contributed!!! [thumbsup2] Our company just switched from NX 7.5 to NX 9 and as you might imagine we are having a lot of fun...
