US Patent #5173124 states that the heat transfer coefficient for 80% helium and 20% argon is better than 100% helium. See Figure 5 in: http://www.google.com/patents?id=59kjAAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract&source=gbs_overview_r&cad=0.
The project is to be similar to HIP operation, but much faster...
Helium has a thermal conductivity 5times that of air (air is .0257 W/(mK) where helium is .1513 W/(mK)). If I have a container filled with 90% air and 10% helium, will the thermal conductivity be dependent on the ratio too?

This is not a homework question. I am using helium gas for heat quenching some material and want to know how to economically recycle the helium gas as it is $.23/ft3.
Suppose I have a pressure vessel with internal volume of 10scf. Now assume the vessel is open to atmosphere of air at stp. I close the vessel, and then inject 90scf of helium gas. The chamber now has a 100scf mix of 90% helium, 10%air. The internal pressure is 10atm.
After a period of...
The outer rectangular plates are in fact spacers. I can have any weld length/size between the long uprights and the spacers. 4 structural bolts are passing through the two short plates and two upright long plates. These are sized for the loads and moments. No issue.
A simple tack weld could...
What is the weld callout for an edge stitch weld? I want a weld bead 1/2 inch wide, 2 inches long, spaced 5 inches apart on center. See the picture in the below link:
