If the bom and the drawing are separate documents it is possible to up rev one document and not the other. if using a PLM/PDM system then only one document needs to be checked out.
the problem is that the revision levels will be different for each document. They will not match and some...
Note sizes, title sizes, bom items should all be the same height from drawing to drawing.
The note on an A size is the same as the note on an E size sheet. However, if you are trying to print all of these onto the same size sheet of course you will have a problem.
One of our customers has a rule...

i AM interested in the paragraph number but, i will look harder for it now.
I always use 2X when referring to a number of features, holes etc. but, i don't recall any specific reference to a "balloon quantity" in any standard. I look forward to being corrected...
This is a drawing question regarding the placement of quantities beside callout balloons.
We are having this discussion in conjunction with the establishment of company drawing standards.
I (personally_ prefer using "x2" positioned to the lower right of the balloon. My colleagues use either...
I am trying to create a series of blocks to be used for panel cutouts.
There are about 20 different sizes. I want to draw and pre-dimension these blocks for insertion into a drawing as need be.
We do all our drawings on D sheets per customers standards and some of the blocks may be placed on the...

I am not speaking about revision or version levels of a part. this is about the part number. Particularly the dash number, often called a tabulation.
In a reasonable situation the dash numbered assys or parts are the same thing (but different). its the same...

I had a read through DOD-100 which has a section based on ASME y14.24.
It states that dash numbers can be used for parts, assemblies, mono and multi-detail drawings. So i am not any better off than i was before.
My customer is asking for "kitchen-sink drawings" with the BOM being a large as it...
can anyone point me to the rules defining the proper (or permitted) use of dash numbers in part and assembly drawings. i learned the rules over serveral years at a defence contactor and now with a different customer there is a serious difference of opinion on the use of these types of numbers

obviously that method is fine if you are forced to show thread detail , but, you wouldn't want to do all your threads that way because of the increase in file size with each extra thread.

Although i have done this task sucessfully in the past, it is not working out for me this time.
I am trying to export a wirelist from ACADE 2010 to Inventor 2011. I have followed the steps for export and when i get to the final dialogue box there is a radio button to choose for either project or...
i have 2 questions re: nailboard drawings.
When i try to use the edit button on the nailboard tab in order to add dimensions to the harness sketch. the environment changes and the harness sketch disappears. This makes it hard to dimension using the harness dimension button.
can someone tell...
