'04 BMW Locked. Battery dead.??

The subject says it all. Anyone know how to open an '04 Beamer with a dead battery?

No keyhole? Lots of cars have a plastic cover that can be popped off to reveal a keyhole. Beyond that ...

I know nothing of it more than what Google tells me, and it told me a good idea. Jack up the left front and put it on jackstands. Crawl underneath with suitable jumper cables, locate the red (+12) cable to the starter motor and connect your red jumper cable to that and the black one to any suitable chassis ground. Hook up the other end of the jumper cables to a good 12V battery and you now have power to the vehicle, your remote should work.

The key on this does not have a mechanical linkage. It operates the same solenoid as does the remote.
The car spent the winter out in the field. As soon as the snow melts I will be crawling underneath.
My other option is the charge terminal on the alternator. Starter or alternator, whichever I find first.
The starter may not be easy to access.

ps; I am considering mounting a hidden post to connect a jump battery the next time.

That's a bit weird; all of the cars I own with remotes have mechanical key linkages, presumably for just such an occasion.

I know. My wife's Equinox has the pop-off cover over the key slot.
German engineering at it's finest.
Weird doesn't do it justice.
I can't wait for the lock solenoid to fail.
I'll be phoning the glass shop to see which window is the cheapest to break in.
Probably the wrecking yards also to see which is the cheapest window in stock.
My last ever BMW.
