1:8 tapered shaft. What does that mean?

I have a motor with which the manufacture says that it has a 1:8 tapered shaft. I have to design a hub that goes on it. I know the diameter of the shaft before the taper, and I know the taper length. What I do not know is the angle of the taper or the diameter at the end of the taper. What does 1:8 taper mean?

Nevermind. I figured it out while looking at some screen shots of some prop software.

1:8 taper mean the shaft diameter decreases by 1/8th the taper length.

Example:
Shaft diameter = 2.00
Taper length =3.5
Shaft has a 1:8 taper

The diameter at the end of the taper = 2-(3.5/8)= 1.5625

Rather like we indicate a hill steepness here in UK.
For every eight in length, you lose 1 in diameter.
A simple example, if your taper is over an 8mm length and your shaft is 10mm at the "thick" end, it will be 9mm at the other.
