100V (japan) to 220V for an AC fan

I have a fan, that is on site..cant be replaced now the equipment is installed, that runs on 220VAC. Nobody thought to ask about it...and now its in Japan. So need a 100V to 220V converter. I was thinking a standard 110VAC to 220VAC box would work, its off the shelf etc but they said..customer..said no, we have 100V. Wouldnt it just be converted to 200V? The fan is AC, so I am thinking it would maybe pull a little more current, but otherwise should be fine. Comments?

Single phase or three phase? Horsepower?

single phase, we are talking about a small vent fan, like on the back of a mainframe.

I would check with the manufacturer, but it does not sound to me that it would suffer from running at a slightly lower voltage except for the output of course. Many if not most of these cabinet fans are variable speed any way and are designed to be controlled in that way. Take a look at this for other power options

Thats a good question...not sure if its on the 50Hz or 60Hz side of the island. The fan itself was EU in origin, so I imagine its 50Hz (if not universal)
