1026 CDS vs. St52.3 CDS

I'm currently designing a hydraulic cylinder and I've been quoted two pieces of honed tubing from two different companies. Both pieces of tubing have very similar yield and tensile properties but one is 1026 CDS and one is St. 52.3 CDS. I was just wondering what the differences between these two steels are. Are they interchangeable? Do they just have different machinability properties? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
The 52.3 has become more common.
It is easy to work with and the properties are very consistent.
This includes more uniform machinability.

The composition for these two grades is similar, but not the same. The following is from ASTM A519 for grade 1026, and EN 10305-1 for E355 (1.0580), which is the replacement for St 52 from DIN 2391 Part 2:

1026 E355
C 0.22-0.28 0.22 max
Mn 0.60-0.90 1.60 max
Si 0.35 max 0.55 max

The somewhat higher C content in 1026 compensates for the higher Mn in E355, which is why they have similar mechanical properties for a given thermomechanical processing history. I would not consider them interchangeable, but they are as close as you will get with cold drawn seamless tubes.
