I need a little help to find data regarding the % austenite in 17-4PH and mechanical properties. Any recommendations are appreciated.(books, articles, etc.)

The following is from ASM HANDBOOK Volume 1, page 903:

The compositional balance in the martensitic precipitation-hardening (PH) steels is critical, because relatively slight variations can lead to the formation of excessive amounts of delta ferrite during solution annealing. If the austenite is too stable, large amounts of austenite can also be retained at room temperature after solution annealing. Eiher of these two conditions prevents full hardening during aging. Carbon and nitrogen mcontents can significantly affect this balance.

Thank you for your fast response. I would like to find study/data regarding the direct correlation between the %austenite and mechanical properties. I know the chemical composition control is an important factor in the ferrite-austenite-martensite %, but based on this I can correlate with the time - temperature in heat treatment to obtain different properties.

Gray,
Are you trying to squeeze a little more out of the properties than what is provided by std heat treat procedures? Or are doing research? What is your goal?

I am trying to find a correlation between the % of austenite in 17-4 ph to mechanical properties (research). I have seen lots of articles that is better to have such and such, but no data. Theoretically, I know that, but is it anywhere, or anybody has any info about this correlation?
One of my customers is asking for the support on finding such a thing and I don't want to start this research if someone else did already this.
On the other hand, yes, I’d like to squeeze a little more of properties.
I appreciate your help.
Thank you
