18-8 SMO? 1

I have dealt with many alloys over the years but I am not familiar
with the SMO of this designation. This is for a gauge valve.
1/2" Mpt X Fpt rated for max pres. of 3000 psig.

Please enlighten me.

Are you sure that the designation is not 18-8 SMo. This is a 18 CR, 8 Ni, +Mo that is called out for medical implants especially screws.
It is also called out as you posted 18-8 SMO which is technically wrong but used.
 
And it will not be significantly different from 316
