What is the application? Otherwise, what Division, Class and Group of Explosion Proof motor do you need? And is it made in an electrical motor or an air motor?

I'm guessing the only reason you've asked this question here in this forum is for some advice or consensus on who makes the best motors, or specializes in them for this sort of application. I also imagine that you've done some amount of web searches (like Yahoo, Dogpile, Google, etc) to find some. If not, please do so.

Personally I've found that most engineers, specifiers, and tech's feel that U.S. Motors, Baldor, and Leeson produce some of the highest quality motors that are widely available here in the U.S. You should really speak with a major motor sales and repair shop in your own area. If you don't know who that might be, ask electricians or electrical supply houses.

The motor I want to buy is to be used for a pump , that is c-face mounint, in the mine in China. So, how to proof this motor is explosion proof? UL Listed or just b'cos the factory says "it's explosion -proof?"

Hello Place1234

What is the reason you need an explosion proof motor? Will you be pumping flammable liquids or operating in an environment with explosive gases? We used to use these for circulating alcohol ink and have converted to water base ink but prefer them now due to the tight seal they offer, It makes clean up possible with no damage to motor from moisture contamination.

Sincerely, Chuck

It must have a plate from UL (Underwriters Laboratories) Listed file and ID number.

This motor to be used in a minde field on a pump. It requires explosion proof. UL listed: Class II, Group F & G should be okay for such application.

Actually I'm using this motor in a China mine with 127 power supply single phase.
It is difficult for me really to look for a 1 phase, 127v, XP motor. So far I've found Baldor motor has a 115v/50hz/1HP/1450rpm motor with 15% voltage variation. But is there other alternative choice? Anybody could help, thx!
