Is it worth waiting a few months after the beginning of the year to order these books?

Do they issue changes/update the books within the first 6 months due to errors?

I don't see much point in waiting. Any errata or changes will be available on NFPA website and usually well-publicized if it's anything important. Consider that probably 95% of the text is unchanged from version to version, so there usually are not a lot of typos.

I think that the NEC Handbook is not released until about January. I haven't bought a handbook the last couple of updates but they are very helpful.

I don't "order today to reserve a copy" because that's B.S.. And yeah, over the last couple rounds the first copies have had some errors that the later printing had fixed.

It's not exactly "getting the bugs out" so it's not really that you're smarter to wait though.

I don't see the rush, since none of the areas I work in will adapt it for several years. Making sure you are on the same revision as your inspector is more important than having the latest code.
