Thank you in advance for reading my question on wood-framed decks.

Figure R507.10.1 is not in the version of 2012 IRC that I have (digital or PDF). This figure illustrates diagonal bracing requirements for free-standing decks greater than 30 inches above grade. The figure is in another PDF I found online (see 2012 IRC Decks attached). Are you able to confirm that the PDF I attached is a revision to the 2012 IRC? Also, can you explain the genesis of this revision? Thank you.

It's not part of the 2012 IRC, but it may be from a state specific revision. For instance, the 2012 Virginia Residential code doesn't have all of the extra sections, but it does have through R507.8.1. Most of these come from the "Design for Code Acceptance 6: Prescriptive Residential Wood Deck Construction Guide" published by the American Wood Council.

Where did your PDF come from?

The link just takes you straight to the document and the URL gives no indication of the source. It says it's a document upload - but who uploaded it?

How did you find it? Did google unearth it?

Pennsylvania adopted the 2018 IRC effective February 14, 2022. So I'd look to the 2018 IRC which has an expanded deck section over the the 2012 anyway. It's not as detailed as the document you posted, though. Keep in mind that most injuries and deaths caused by structural failures in the US come from deck and balcony collapses - don't skimp just because everyone else does...
