Hello again!

Drawing states:
20Mn5 DIN 17243 / DIN ISO 8062

I'm wondering if this means casted or forged. The DIN17243 seems to imply forged parts, but the DIN ISO 8062 is used for castings(normally).

What do you guys think? I'm not sure.

Also draft angles on the drawing are 3-5 degrees, which seem small for a forging, correct?

Thanks a bunch

DIN ISO 8062 is for casting. DIN 17243 is an old standard which was replaced by DIN EN 10222-2 as far as I know - and yes, it is for forged pieces. 20Mn5 can be casted or forged. I think that's what the draftsman wanted to say.

btw. how do you know 20Mn5 can both be casted and forged?

Because the denomitation is not very specific and (now) because I've just googled it and have found it as forged and casted material.
