2hr fire-resistive construction.

For 2hr fire rating purposes, I have been using either pyroguard or d-blaze.
But sometimes due to the span or simply bearing, these coated sawn lumbers don't satisfy.
I have happened to hear that glulam could be used for same purpose (2hr fire rating).
Does anyone have some sort of docs that shows this is true?

I've heard many times that untreated wood can give good fire ratings. The basic idea is that the outside chars and the char protects the inner material. I've never done it, but this link seems to be a good place to start.
