Does anyone have any experience with 3 phase transformer turns ratio test sets? Specifically, which one is likely to be reliable and FAST?

We have the little ttr100 single phase from Megger, and its so slow that in the time it takes to test 1 tap on 1 phase, our AEMC 8500 can do at least 2, and the hand crank Biddle can do almost 3. For that reason I'm a bit wary of using Megger brand TTR's, but if they have one that isn't ridiculously slow we'd look at it.

Reason is we do a lot of distribution class MV transformer testing (50-5000kVA) and we're looking at trying to reduce testing time. A printout would also be nice, but if not, then most of them now come with memory so you can download them later I guess.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

We use the Megger TTR300, the test time is greatly reduced and using Power Db the time to make the testreports is about 5 seconds, so a great time cutting tool.

We have a number of different kinds. EZ CT tester is my favorite.

You can also take a look at Raytech. Its swiss made. They have both single phase and three phase testing kits. Extremely fast and reliable and very rugged.

I like the Raytech. I believe it's US made.
