what is the basic requirement for building the 3 phase ups system and how the operation and function of it.

as the back-up system for critical loads how can we design that system be last long.

one more thing where can i link the related web site for this the design on ups system.

for design 3 phase ups system what type of rectification did i must apply and how about the connection of the transformer that suit for the design.......where he harmonic distortion quite less and the effiiciency is good.

hi..

try to go to website of power semiconductor manufacturer...most of them provide information on designs of UPS...you can find them normally on the application notes...it may not be detailed but it will give you an idea how the author wants to design the UPS..

Suggestions: There are various UPS architectures. E.g. one may specify UPS with isolated input power supply from output power supply over AC-DC-AC conversion. This UPS is independent from any power quality deficiencies on its input. This UPS is usually required for high quality power supply and high reliability; especially, if these UPS are redundant in parallel.
Different UPS architectures are included in Reference:
1. IEEE Std 241-1990 IEEE Recommended Practice for Electric Power Systems in Commercial Buildings", (Gray Book)

Figure 36 ""Cold" Standby Redundant UPS System" on Page 195
