3-wythe brick wall needs expansion joint

I have a 120 year old building that is at the end of a row of brick structures separated by party walls. There are no expansion joints in the 3-wythe brick walls. The sidewall corner at the intersection of the back and side wall has shifted out approximately 2" at the top, likely due to the expansion of the long brick wall. The majority of the back wall (non-load bearing) is slated to be reconstructed due to damage from inadequate support during an interior remodel several years ago.
The intent is to stabilize the sidewall and provide for expansion along the back wall as part of the reconstruction. Does anyone have experience with this type of construction or advice on how to provide stability and allow for movement?
