33 kV distributionsystem.

dear sirs,

i have to take 33 kV lines to different places for industry requiring 5 (nos) *30 = 150 MVA. i am concerned about the type of conductor to use.

i have read that we can use upto 165 mva in 33 kv. but dog conductor only has 324 amps. as line current.

1 x 30MVA = @ 33kV = 525Amp x 5 = 2625 Amps Goat ACSR conductor = 730amp
Would it not be feasible to step-up from sub 33 / 88kV OHL then stepdown at each 30MVA

150MVA at 33kV? What distance are we talking? What is the voltage drop??
I don't think it is feasible unless you are intending to take the power only a couple of kilometers.

What is dog and goat? Most conductors I run across at 34kV have bird names.

Smallest I have seen used is 2/0, but 4/0 is more typical of a rural distribution circuit.

I asked our line engineer about these.

Maybe because these are in MM, and not inches like we usually see.
