Hello

can someone please tell you what to start with to construct a Kids Bike Traile Linkas 3D.
it should select material and geometry.
I think I should start sketching with forces (children's weight)! and type of load (whether it is tensile, compressive or torsional), then select the appropriate material for it.
Am I on the right way?

Thank you for the help

Not to derail your fun, but this is likely a case where economic design is driven more by manufacturing and material availability than structural calculations.

After that, I'd anticipate your design will be driven by stability and deflections/stiffness -- both driven mostly by your geometry.

The name is a long story -- just call me Lo.

Thank you for your answer.
According to the project, it is not the economic aspect that comes first and foremost, but lightweight construction.
and the model must be made of at least 90% wood.

Yeah, it looks nice.
But where should one start?

thanks for your helpful tips.
I would first design a rough model and then do FEM analysis to check the stresses and deformations.
