3D geometry stretched/skewed 1

This morning when I opened CATIA all of my 3D geometry is stretched/skewed horizontally. A quick search of the forum produced the following threads...

...but both of these are assuming a new widescreen setup. I've been using a widescreen laptop and secondary monitor for months without issue, but all of sudden this morning the geometry is skewed. Did one of my settings get changed accidentally? Since everything has been ok before today, I assume I don't have to manually set environment variables as the referenced threads suggest, right?

Ok, assuming I backup and delete my CATSettings, now what? Isn't there something in the CATSettings that drives this, and if so, why can't I go straight there and change it?

CATSettings are encoded files created automatically by CATIA, according to your options. And yes, a back-up it wolud be good to have it when they are working properly.

Sometimes the settings can be corrupted. I have seen an option toggled to a certain setting with the wrong result. Now I use admin settings on a server and I reset them with each new version installed.
