hi every body
i have a complex 3d model in solidworks.i want to cut the model to many pieces for build it in workshop.does anyone know how to separate main 3d model to 3 or 4 new 3d model that exactly have main model dimension?

Hi!
Do you already have multiple bodies? If so you can use the command to save those bodies. If not you use the divide command and then you can save the bodies.

Use surfaces to use as a cutting tool and use the split... command. Then you can just split it into separate bodies or save them out into separate parts using the same command.

I prefer not to use the split command to save out to separate parts. I just split it out into bodies then suppress the 1 body at a time and export out to a Parasolid and Import the Parasolid files and save as SW files. Usually, the files come in much cleaner and they are not linked back to the original file that started it all.
