Hello,
Is there a way to have horizontal and vertical dimensions between holes that are positioned with a 3D sketch? Currently I keep getting an angled dimension between the points.

Thanks PD

I rarely use 3d sketchs. But when I do, I try to base all my coordinate (X,Y,Z) dimensions off of the Front, Top, Right Planes.

I know that not exactly what you are asking for, but it is an easy translation between Baseline & Chain style dimensions

Create and then dimension construction geometry.

Draw a line between the 2 points, switch it to "For Construction" then pull the dimension off the line.

3D sketches get very complicated very quickly because like ShaggyPE said: You are using construction geometry to lay everything out.

Think about the problem, and if you can create a plane then make a 2D sketch, it will make your life easier in the long run.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. The construction geometry worked fine.
