Hi,

Please can anyone give me the 3Sm (now Sps I believe) allowable from the ASME BPVC for Inconel 625 annealed sheet? It's not in the 1986 edition. Is it even in the later editions?

Thanks,

JE.

JohnnyEnglish;
Why are you using the 1986 edition of the ASME B&PV Code? If you can get a more recent edition of the ASME B&PV Code, review UG-23. All if the information is there on how to calculate local discontinunity stresses from allowable stress S in Table 1B of Section II, Part D.

I'm using it because that's all I have.

Is IN625 in the latest version? Can you give me the allowable for combined Primary and Secondary stresses please? Or is it not a simple matter?

JohnnyEnglish;

Yes to your first question.

The stress intensity S[sub]m[/sub] is in Table 2B of Section II for Inconel 625 (UNS N06625). You need to know the service temperature to obtain a value. The value of 3S[sub]m[/sub] or S[sub]sp[/sub] is a calculated value.
