4" to 5" high wheel stop

Does anyone know of a state DOT approved 4" to 5" concrete wheel stop. Need plans & specs

Do a search for Caltrans - the California department of transportation. They have hundreds of details available for download on the internet.

You should be able to obtain specs from local suppliers with DOT approved products. Are they not readily available from your local concrete outfit (manufacturing precast manholes, pipe, etc)? That is how I obtain mine and I simply utilize the rough dimensions in my spec and the wording "or approved alternate".

The low clearance (4&quot is what was giving me the problem. I have found non-concrete ones that look good. The "Concrete" criteria was the facility's original choice. I seem to have convinced them to come into the 21ST century

I can make a few phone calls up here and get a detail drawing or two, but really, the spec is very sraight forward and should be readily available to you in your area. As a point of note, I am the opposite of your client, I have been encouraging Owners in my contracts and work to give some serious consideration to the "recycled" plastic/rubber wheel stops versus concrete. They are less susceptible to damage and are very cost effective. Best of all they don't fracture and crumble due to freeze/thaw cycles.

With the new vehicle clearances being lower, particularly the minivans and sporty cars, I spec the stops that are in the 4" range.
