4 VALVE HEAD - ARE EQUAL FLOWS IMPORTANT?? 1

In a 4 valve head arrangement; per cylinder - how important is it to balance the flows of both intake runners to each other and both exhaust runners to each other? The aplication is a NA carbureted engine. To what degree should each individual runner be balanced say on the flow bench?

The port runners are not straight in this design and one runner flows more than another. I'm looking to determine to what extent we need to go to make them match CFM's.

It's possible that they'e intentionally mismatched to induce swirl. Or, not.

You have to guess what the engine designer really wanted.

Get your hands on some heads from high specific output engines and flow them on your bench. I do not need to identify any of these engines as they are well known.

These heads are extremely well developed. And, they are on street vehicles.
