I have recently been asked to modufy WDPF system Currently it utilizes 110 to 240 transformers to power the 13Volt DC Q crate power suppies. Due to lack of space we need to remove these is it possible to change the required input power of the 405A662601 units from 240 to 120Volts?

Your part number is incorrect: the last 6 is actually a letter G which denotes the 'Group' of the part.

405A662G01, 13 VDC I/O Power Supply - 115V
405A662G02, 13 VDC I/O Power Supply - 230V

List price on these is about US$4300. Ouch. There are plenty of modern commercial power supplies which equal or surpass the performance of these big old switchers.

I did something similar a year or two ago when we replaced the 110V/24V and 110V/13V DC-DC converters with AC-DC supplies after major changes on our Westinghouse WDPF-DEH systems. The replacements I used were from Astec, specifically the MP1-3L-3L-30 which is 12V 1000W nominal. The 12V models have enough adjustment to deliver the 13V output you need. Physically they are fairly compatible with the original mounting rails other than a couple of fixing screw locations on the case.

Curiously enough Astec is now an Emerson company.
