409 Stainless Steel Properties

Just wondering if anyone knew if 409 SS becomes brittle if you heat it up to 525 F and then bring it down to ambient temperature.

I'm working on a project were we use 50" x 100" x 0.036" thick 409 SS grids that are heated up to 525 F continously for a long periods of time (days or week) before being removed and allowed to cool. The grid itself has a oval pattern cut into it and there is very little material between the ovals.

I worry about handling the grids after several times of heating and cooling and them becoming brittle and breaking the remaining material between the oval patterns.

Any help is appreciated.

If you never take them any hotter, No. They will not become brittle. The carbon in this material should be less than 0.08% and no hardening is possible.
