Hi,

is it normal to order a tubular heat exchanger with 5/8" O.D. tubings in the US? Do the vendors have to procure them specially so that this will make more cost than ordering a heat exchanger with 3/4" tubings?

Thank you in advance.

There is no harm in ordering HX with tube OD 5/8". It is a regular size so no such cost impact.

We often order 5/8" tubes in lieu of 3/4" where tube velocity or design criteria is an issue....no problem and no delivery impact.

I can't say how "normal" it is, but I have come across more than a few heat exchangers with 5/8" tubes.
