8.2.1.a no more 1.43....only 1.25 4

Was there a reason in div2 class vessel removed the 1.43 multiplying factor from the hydrotest and only uses 1.25 for 2019? I could not find the reason they changed this. I dont have 2017 in front of me, but im pretty sure 1.43 was an option in the table 4.1.3.

Yup - it was changed because ASME decided that ASME vessels didn't need to automatically conform with the PED. If you want to conform with the PED, then you will need to throw the 1.425 factor back in.

The 1.43 factor was only added in the 2007 Edition. It was never there historically. This change was to bring VIII-2 back to historical norms for ASME.
