Comment on mobile versus stationary:
Could a automotive hybrid system with CVT (like the Prius) look much more like a stationary application than a classic mobile application?
Which doesn't affect any of the other arguments about Scuderi, of course.

Possibly. The Prius operates (more or less) along a fixed curve of power vs rpm. Perhaps even more like a sttionary engine is the GM Volt, which will only run its engine at 5 setpoints of throttle and speed.
