I recently got a project to certify a cementing head. What API spec or ASME code this should be designed to? Would I be wrong to assume API 6A?

Secondly, in API 6A 4.3.3.2 it states Sec VIII Div 2 Appendix 4 may be used for design calculations for pressure containing equipment, and it gives equations St=0.83Sy and Sm=2/3Sy. I assume I need to plug these values of St and Sm into equations in Sec VIII Div 2 to get my allowable internal pressure or wall thickness? But we do not have Div 2 in our office, but we do have Div 1. Can anyone tell me if the equation in Div 2 is the same as Div 1 UG-27 equation (1)? And I can simply insert St or Sm into the Div 1 equation?

Regards,
Mark

No equations are not the same as in Div 1. Most recently the code has been revamped. So you would most likely want to purchase the code you are designing to with the year that you want applicable.
The formula for basis internal stress for cylinder in div to is PR/t + P/2
