On a drawing parts list we have a rare situation where we need to specify the (2x) component with separate item numbers.
In the Teamcenter Structure Manager I unpacked the component and gave each of them a unique find number.
They should come into the NX parts list as separate with that number that was given to them in TC, but it does not work.
They come in as packed and the item number is replaced by two dots.
The picture shows a previous situation where it did work.
Does anybody have a suggestion on what we can do to make this work ?
There must be a setting that I am missing here !
I am on NX1961

Check which column in the parts list is set as a key field. The key field defines what makes the components listed unique, so like components are packed or unpacked in the parts list.
So in your case the find number column should be the only key field I would expect.

Thank you very much !
I had a feeling the problem was someplace in the parts list but I did not know where to look.
The problem was the ITEM column was not a key field. I made it a key field and now it works fine, even with the PART NUMBER column still a key field - if I notice it is causing a problem I will change that.
